New name, same club and web page!

Welcome to the home page of CTC Lancaster and South Lakes .

CTC Lancaster & South Lakes is the main member group of the Cyclists’ Touring Club for CTC members living within the region of North West England  mainly covered  by the various LA [Lancaster] post codes. These include Lancaster, Furness, Kendal & South Lakeland and parts of North Yorkshire. Lancaster played host to the CTC Birthday Rides in 1996.

In brief the range of current activities may be summarised as follows:

  1. We hold club runs on Sundays throughout the year. These are organised on a quarterly basis at a meeting chaired by the Runs Secretary. For more detailed information about the rides take a look at the runs reports or the runs list.

  1. Our social programme includes monthly social evenings during the winter months, the Christmas Dinner and an evening meal mid summer. The Social Secretary has also organised a week’s cycling at a holiday location for each of the past four years.

  1. Since 1990 we have organised a number of tourist trials open to members of the CTC and/or Audax UK, currently held twice a year.

  1. We hold an annual general meeting each November when the year’s activities are reviewed, the committee members are elected and other matters tabled by members are discussed.

Cycling in Britain is currently enjoying increased participation at various levels. The Cyclists’ Touring Club has taken on board the breadth of opportunities that the popularity of all types of cycling has engendered. CTC Lancaster & South Lakes welcomes everyone who wishes to participate in our activities.
